Our nurses are all highly qualified and offer a comprehensive range of nursing procedures. Alongside general nursing services such as ear syringing, vaccinations and wound dressings, they offer a range of more specialised clinic appointments including asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension and smears.
The practice runs a full travel clinic service where patients can be given travel advice, vaccinations (there is a charge for some) and any travel certificates that may be required. The practice is a registered yellow fever centre.
Smoking cessation and healthy diet advice is also given.
Contraceptive advice and prescriptions are issued during normal surgery times. An appointment is always necessary.
The surgery is able to offer a range of minor surgery services including the removal of verrucas, warts, moles and skin tags. You have to see a doctor first and they will advise you about your treatment.
There is a cryosurgery once a month. You have to book an appointment with a doctor for a discussion about the appropriate treatment first.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel. A second or third appointment may be needed, depending on what immunisations are recommended.
Not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. You may need to pay for some vaccinations. The surgery only accepts cash or cheques when paying for these vaccines.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
